Mission to Puebla Mexico:
“Once we take our eyes away from ourselves, from our own interests, from our own rights, privileges, ambitions – then they will become clear to see Jesus around us.”
As the summer draws to a close I can't help but reflect on what God has done this year through Vive Church missions. This year God empowered Vive Church to send out 15 people on mission trips to Palmares and San Jose, Costa Rica as well as Houston, Texas (over $12,000). We are so blessed to be God's Hands and Feet. While in Costa Rica we saw many lives changed by the presence of the Lord, apart from that we saw God move in the most dangerous neighborhood in Costa Rica as we partnered with an amazing church there to serve the community.
These are just a few of the ministries that Vive Church continues to support. While your giving supports missionaries all over the world, these ministries are some that we support almost exclusively through firework sales.
How can you help?
Good evening Vive family,
I pray that you are all doing well. Because your support is important, we strive to keep you up to date on the happenings of our missions here at Vive. Please take few minutes to read our update regarding Mission Kenya and Costa Rica. Starting last year we began the process of putting together a trip with Kenya missionaries Kevin and Robin McGee. Recently they have had to unexpectedly return to the states. Although they have provided us with in country contacts, much more time to pray, grow and meld with these partners is needed. It is our priority to provide prayerful, safe, helpful, true partnerships with host countries. For this reason we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Mission to Kenya.
Meanwhile, as we look to strengthen ties in Kenya, our partnership in Costa Rica is strong. We continue to work with Pastor Rayner of La Viña and his mission partners. As I write this, Rayner and I are working on putting together a joint trip to Central America this summer.
As more information becomes available for this opportunity we will be sure to pass it on to you. In the mean time could you provide one of our most valuable assets, your prayers! As leaders, we need your prayers as we continue to create partnerships, plans and make the difficult decisions that come with mission work.
I sent an email a few weeks ago concerning an opportunity to finish what we started here at Vive 11 months ago; the fundraising efforts to replace the bus that had to be sold to begin construction of the church building in Palmares, Costa Rica. I am happy to say that we were able to send an additional $2000 last week. Praise God! Rayner has informed me that after further negotiating he was able to complete the purchase of the bus. Currently the local church is working together to pool resources to get the bus painted and ready to be an effective ministry tool. This past week they got together and began renovating the interior.
Please take a second and check out the bus before and after pics and video.
Thank you for your support.
